So, the staff at Canada&#8217;s Outdoor Farm Show are busy preparing for September 14, 15 &#038; 16, 2010 and the biggest event that they have ever produced with over 700 exhibitors and more than 25 special activities.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Assembly will begin with a keynote panel on Friday, November 26, focusing on the &#8216;big picture&#8217; around food, energy, and climate change, with a panel of speakers from the &#8216;global South&#8217; and Canada. The speakers will unveil the international corporate agenda and discuss the responses from small farmers and social movements against land grabs and the degeneration of agriculture into the production of biomass for whatever industrial purpose is currently convenient. This discussion will be placed in the context of the movement for Food Sovereignty. </p>
<p>From Saturday morning, November 27, to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, there will be a series of workshops and presentations addressing two interlinked themes:</p>
<p>1. Weaving An Agenda: Food Sovereignty policy for Canada<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OPHA and Health Promotion Ontario (HPO) invite you to be part of &#8220;Taking Action on the Built Environment: Building Healthy Public Policy&#8221;, a Think Tank/Policy Forum. This is a unique event that will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to take action on issues around health and the built environment. The goal is to provide a forum for public health professionals and other professionals working on the built environment to establish ideas for moving policy issues forward in their communities.</p>
<p>On September 28th at 7:00 p.m. there will be an Opening Keynote and Policy Panel, followed by a Reception.</p>
<p>On September 29th, join the Ontario Public Health Association and its partners for a full day of sessions to discuss and formulate actions on built environment policy issues for:</p>
<p>•Transportation<br />
•Food Access<br />
•Housing<br />
•Community Safety<br />
•Recreation and Greenspace<br />
On September 30th, attend the Health Promotion Ontario annual conference to continue the discussion on food security as it relates to the social determinants of health.</p>
<p>Members of OPHA and potential members are also invited to attend OPHA’s Annual General Meeting, which will be held Tuesday, September 28th at 4:00pm. This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about OPHA’s advocacy activities, new dimensions of growth in the organization, and to exercise your right to debate and vote on the resolutions and position papers being considered for adoption by OPHA.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Niagara Food Festival celebrates its 17th anniversary on the weekend of October 1, 2, and 3 in historic downtown Welland. The annual showcase of all things food and drink in Niagara brings together growers, producers, restaurateurs, chefs, and entertainers with foodies of all ages to celebrate the best the Niagara region has to offer.</p>
<p>The three-day event is expected to draw upwards of 100,000 visitors from throughout Niagara and surrounding areas, including Hamilton, the GTA, and Western New York, to taste a variety of sensational samples offered by over 40 food and drink vendors.</p>
<p>A community volunteer board, chaired by John Clark, will be building on the momentum of a very successful Niagara Food Festival in 2009 to ensure the annual festival remains one of Niagara’s premiere family events. The 2010 Niagara Food Festival will continue its focus on local and regional food and restaurants, and will appeal to people of all ages, particularly families.</p>
